Remove a device in Find My on Mac<\/span>\n<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Remove a device from the Devices list\n<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

If you\u2019re not using a device, you can temporarily remove it from your account so it doesn\u2019t show up in your Devices list. When the device goes online again, it reappears in the list.<\/p>

  1. Turn off the device, or put AirPods in their case.<\/p><\/li>

  2. In the Find My app\u00a0\"\"\u00a0on your Mac, click Devices.<\/p><\/li>

  3. In the Devices list, select the device you want to remove.<\/p><\/li>

  4. Click the Info button\u00a0\"\"\u00a0on the map, then click Remove This Device.<\/p>

    Note:\u00a0<\/em>You can also Control-click the device in the Devices list, then choose Remove this Device.<\/p><\/div><\/li><\/ol>

    If you remove your AirPods, Beats headphones, or supported iPhone Wallet with MagSafe from the Devices List, someone else can connect it to their Apple ID.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    Turn off Activation Lock on the Mac you\u2019re using\n<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t
    \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

    1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu \uf8ff >\u00a0System\u00a0Settings, then click [your name<\/em>] at the top of the sidebar. If you don\u2019t see your name, click Sign in with your Apple ID to enter your Apple ID or to create one.<\/p><\/li>

    2. Do one of the following:<\/p>

      • Go to Sign Out on the right, then click it.<\/p>

        Signing out of iCloud turns off all iCloud features on the device. See\u00a0If you sign out of your Apple ID settings.<\/p><\/li>

      • Click iCloud on the right, click Find My Mac, then click Turn Off next to Find My Mac.<\/p>

        If Find My Mac isn\u2019t in the list, click Show All.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

        Turn off Activation Lock on a device you no longer have\n<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

        \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

        If you sold or gave away your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or Apple Watch and you forgot to turn off Find My [device<\/em>], you can still remove Activation Lock using the Find My app.<\/p>

        1. In the Find My app\u00a0\"\" on your Mac, click Devices.<\/p><\/li>

        2. In the Devices list, select the device you want to remove.<\/p><\/li>

        3. Erase the device.<\/p>

          If the device is offline, the remote erase begins the next time it connects to a Wi-Fi or cellular network. You receive an email when the device is erased.<\/p><\/li>

        4. When the device is erased, click the Info button\u00a0\"\"\u00a0on the map, then click Remove This Device.<\/p>

          Note:\u00a0<\/em>You can also Control-click the device in the Devices list, then choose Remove this Device.<\/p><\/div><\/li><\/ol>
