Affected units were sold primarily between September 2015 and February 2017 and product eligibility is determined by the product serial number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Customer safety is always Apple&#8217;s top priority, and we have voluntarily decided to replace affected batteries, free of charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First check to see which 15-inch MacBook Pro you have. Choose About This Mac from the Apple menu (\uf8ff) in the upper-left corner of your screen. Confirm your model is &#8220;MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015).&#8221; If you have that model, enter your computer&#8217;s serial number below to see if it is eligible for this program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your MacBook Pro is eligible, please stop using it and follow the instructions below to have your battery replaced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Replacement Process<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Choose one of the service options below to have your battery replaced. Your MacBook Pro will be examined prior to any service to verify that it is eligible for this program. Service may take 3-5 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Find an\u00a0Apple Authorized Service Provider.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make an appointment at an\u00a0Apple Retail Store.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have questions or need further assistance, please contact\u00a0Apple Support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To prepare your MacBook Pro for service, please\u00a0back up your data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This program is for battery replacement only.
