If you’re not using a device, you can temporarily remove it from your account so it doesn’t show up in your Devices list. When the device goes online again, it reappears in the list.
Turn off the device, or put AirPods in their case.
In the Find My app on your Mac, click Devices.
In the Devices list, select the device you want to remove.
Click the Info button on the map, then click Remove This Device.
Note: You can also Control-click the device in the Devices list, then choose Remove this Device.
If you remove your AirPods, Beats headphones, or supported iPhone Wallet with MagSafe from the Devices List, someone else can connect it to their Apple ID.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click [your name] at the top of the sidebar. If you don’t see your name, click Sign in with your Apple ID to enter your Apple ID or to create one.
Do one of the following:
Go to Sign Out on the right, then click it.
Signing out of iCloud turns off all iCloud features on the device. See If you sign out of your Apple ID settings.
Click iCloud on the right, click Find My Mac, then click Turn Off next to Find My Mac.
If Find My Mac isn’t in the list, click Show All.
If you sold or gave away your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or Apple Watch and you forgot to turn off Find My [device], you can still remove Activation Lock using the Find My app.
In the Find My app on your Mac, click Devices.
In the Devices list, select the device you want to remove.
Erase the device.
If the device is offline, the remote erase begins the next time it connects to a Wi-Fi or cellular network. You receive an email when the device is erased.
When the device is erased, click the Info button on the map, then click Remove This Device.
Note: You can also Control-click the device in the Devices list, then choose Remove this Device.
If you still have the device, see the Apple Support articles for full details about preparing to sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.
