Get your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch ready for service

To protect your information and save time, follow these steps before you get service for your device. If your device won’t turn on or respond, finish as many steps as possible:

  • Back up your iOS or iPadOS device (with iCloud, with your Mac, with your PC.
  • Have your Apple ID password ready. For some repairs, you’ll need your Apple ID password to erase your device and turn off Find My.

Get your Apple Watch ready for service

Here’s how to protect your information and save time before you drop it off for service. If your device won’t turn on or respond, finish as many of these steps as possible.

  • Unpair and erase your Apple watch.
  • Remove your Apple watch band (Your Apple Watch band and any other accessories that you send won’t be returned, so please remove them before bringing your device for service).

Get your Mac ready for service

To save time and protect your information, complete as many of these steps as you can before your Mac is serviced.

  • Make a backup (with time machine or with iCloud Drive).
  • If you turned on Find My Mac, turn off Find My.
  • Gather your information ( make sur you know your macOS password and bring in any accessories , like the power cable).
